Highmark Healthy High 5 SPARK (Sports, Play, Activity and Recreation for Kids)

Physical activity supports good health

Highmark Healthy High 5 SPARK is a nationally recognized program that provides quality recreational experiences for children. Through noncompetitive, fun games and activities, SPARK promotes lifelong appreciation for an active, healthy lifestyle.

As an initiative of the Highmark Foundation, Highmark Healthy High 5 SPARK offers training opportunities to schools and nonprofit organizations to provide after-school recreational programs for children ages 5-14.

SPARK (Sports, Play, Activity and Recreation for Kids) promotes quality, daily fitness-related activities for up to one hour per day and encourages kids to be “lifelong movers.” If your school or organization provides after-school programming or summer camp, your program may qualify to become a Highmark Healthy High 5 SPARK site.

The national SPARK Web site is www.sparkpe.org.

The Highmark Healthy High 5 SPARK Web site is www.paspark.org.
