Highmark Healthy High 5 encourages parents to support their children in developing healthful habits that will reinforce lifelong wellness. Parents may choose to become partners in Highmark Healthy High 5 program activities for each of the five areas of focus: nutrition, physical activity, grieving, self-esteem and bullying prevention. Your efforts will help to return healthful dividends.
Highmark Healthy High 5 programs concentrate on reaching children and adolescents at school, at home and within their communities. The programs conducted in schools need the support of parents at home in order to change behavior. At the same time, as your children learn and develop healthy behaviors, they can act as change agents for good health to their friends and families.
Here are some ideas on how you can be a part of Highmark Healthy High 5 and promote a healthy lifestyle to your children.
To help parents and others tackle bullying, we created "Take the Time. Talk to Your Kids. Tackle Bullying." As part of this special bullying prevention information campaign we partnered with television stations across Pennslyvania to promote awareness of bullying prevention efforts. We held bullying prevention town hall meetings and television stations aired special programs about bullying and ways to prevent it.
