Programs for nonprofits

Nonprofit organizations are key to the success of Highmark Healthy High 5

Highmark Healthy High 5 seeks nonprofit organizations with evidence-based programs that will improve the health of children ages 6-18. If your program addresses one of these five areas, will develop healthful habits and has measureable outcomes, your organization may be eligible for a Highmark Healthy High 5 grant.

The Highmark Healthy High 5 focus areas are: nutrition, physical activity, grieving, self-esteem and bullying prevention.

Why did Highmark Healthy High 5 choose these five areas? Nutrition and Physical Activity to combat the epidemic of children being overweight. Grieving to help young people deal with the loss of a loved one. Self-Esteem to give children and adolescents the tools they need to stay away from negative behaviors. Bullying is one of the major problems in our schools and the bullying prevention programs will help to reduce the incidence of bullying. All of these issues have long-term implications on the physical and mental health of our children.
